Edge Seeker
Challenge, intensity, and growth through testing your limits. This adventurer is energized by technical skill, bold experiences, and overcoming hard things.
I want to push beyond my limits and discover what I’m truly capable of.
This pilot assessment looks at four motivations: Edge Seeker, Freedom Explorer, Purpose-Driven Adventurer, and Everyday Adventurer. No style is better than another, and most people will show a blend across multiple categories.
Before you begin, take a quick look at the four adventure identities below. Each one includes the core “I want” statement behind that type of adventurer.
Rate each statement for how appealing it is to you, even if your time, budget, health, or current circumstances make it difficult today. This is about interests, not capabilities.
Assessment recipient: standsurecoaching@gmail.com (the site owner must enable that destination under Netlify's form notifications).
Your question responses are saved on this device while you take the test. When you finish, the completed assessment and the details below will be submitted to Stand Sure Coaching if this form has been published and configured on Netlify. You can review your scores even if sending is unavailable. This is a pilot, not a clinically or scientifically validated assessment.
Required: name and email. The additional information helps us understand how adventure preferences differ across life stages and travel experience. Optional fields may be left blank.
Data collection: The published version uses Netlify Forms to receive demographic information and all 100 question responses and scores. Stand Sure Coaching controls access to the submissions and must separately configure email notifications. Do not use this prototype to collect sensitive medical information. Responses remain in the current browser until erased.
Original AdventureIQ item set: 25 statements per style; 5 reverse-scored in each. All 100 responses required. Reverse-keyed adjusted score = 8 − response. Style mean = average of 25 adjusted responses. Interest score = (mean − 1) ÷ 6 × 100. Four-part mix share = style mean ÷ sum of all four style means × 100.
Assessment development remains in the pilot stage. Before describing it as scientifically validated, collect field-test data and evaluate comprehension, reliability, factor structure, construct validity, and fairness. A low overall score can still produce a mathematically balanced blend, so interpret the absolute and relative results together.
